**your decreases should ONLY be on the inside of the small pennant shape.**

26.  SC along the whole edge of the pennant. Be sure to add 2 SC to each corner and a SLST in the middle of the two peaks.

Rainbow Appliqué

Make 2 Rainbows.

Using the blue yarn first, work in rows:

  1. CH 14. Turn.
  2. HDC in 5 stitches, 2HDC in the next 3 stitches, HDC in the remaining stitches (13). Cut and leave a long tail.
  3. Switch to yellow: HDC in 5 stitches, 2HDC in the next 6 stitches, HDC in the remaining stitches (22). Cut and tie off.
  4. Switch to red: HDC in all stitches (22).

Cut a long tail. Using the red long tail, sew the rainbow onto the GREEN pennants. Once you get to the blue section of the rainbow, use the blue tail to finish sewing it on.

Gold Coins

Using the gold yarn:

Small x 4

  1. HDC 6 in a MC (6). SLST to first stitch and cut a long tail.

Large x4

  1.  HDC 8 in a MC (8). SLST to first stitch and cut a long tail.

Sew 2 small coins in the top corners of the WHITE pennant.

Sew 2 large coins in the bottom corners of the WHITE pennant.

Shamrocks

For the shamrocks, I used The Knotty Boss pattern that Anna release on Instagram for FREE! The only modification I made was I used the 5.5mm hook.

Make 2 shamrocks in light green and sew them into the middle of the WHITE pennants.

The Tassels

Have you ever made your own tassels? This is such a simple way. Make 3 tassels total:

  1. Take small book. Using the light green yarn, wrap the yarn around the book at least 50 times. Cut the yarn.
  2. Next, cut the yarn in half. And tie a small string in the middle, like the photo below.

3. Fold the two halves together and using another string, tie off a small section on top. Use photo below for reference.

4. Tie two knots. Wrap the yarn ends around to hide the knot and hide the ends on the inside of the tassel.

Assembly

Cut an extremely long piece of yarn, use any color you want. Using the needle and starting with a rainbow pennant, thread the string through the top corner and loop it around. This will keep the pennant from moving. Bring the yarn across the front and loop it through the opposite corner.

Next, string on the large bead, then the small bead. Using the top two strings from the tassel, tie one tassel onto the yarn. Next, add a small bead, then a large bead.

Repeat the process with the rest of the pennants, alternating them.

And you are one! Hang this cutie up anywhere in your home or office.
