Hey friends! I *finally* wrote up the second pattern in my Succ-less Collection: The Shutterbug Succulent. Modeled after an Echeveria succulent, this adorable crocheted plant is the perfect solution to those of us who still kill succulents. This little dude won’t die, ever.
The pattern is simple to make and takes less than 1 hour! Plus, you don’t need much yarn…so call this a stash buster if you will.
Plus, with the added photo spiral, this little succulent will look adorable on your desk, in your living room, or on a reception table at your wedding!
Supplies
Worsted Weight yarn (I used Brava Worsted Weight from WeCrochet)
4.00mm hook
1 plastic needle
scissors
2″ terracotta pot
small about of polyfil
1 spiral photo holder (I found mine on Amazon)
Hot Glue (not pictured)
Stitch Definition
SC- single crochet
DC- double crochet
CH- chain
SlSt- slip stitch
*…*- repeat the stitches between the asterisks
Pattern
Using your 4.00mm hook, chain 45.
Row 2: SC in 2nd and 3rd stitch. In the next stitch, *3DC + CH 2 + 3 DC, SC in the next 2 stitches*. Repeat *…* until the end of the row.
You will end up with 14 leaves (3DC + CH 2 + 3DC)
Cut a long tail and bind off. Twist the chain into a spiral, starting from the beginning of the row. Don’t twist too tight.
Next, sew into the center of the succulent a few times from the bottom to the top.
Add the polyfil to the terracotta pot. Carefully add hot glue to the bottom of your succulent and stick to the top of the terracotta pot.
Lastly, stick your photo spiral through the center of your succulent. BOOM.
You finished your adorable Shutterbug Succulent!
