Welcome Back! Another Wednesday, another free pattern. If you missed last weeks pattern, check out the blog post before this one-The Anchorage Cowl. 

 

The Atticus Beanie, named after my amazing middle child. This beanie is such a quick make using super bulky yarn, like Lion Brand Woolease Thick and Quick.

Supplies

Stitch Definitions

k-knit

p-purl

co- cast on

(#)- number of stitches

*….*- repeat this pattern

k2tog- knit two stitches together (decrease)

ssk- slip slip knit (decrease)

Notes

This pattern is worked in the round. Please use a stitch marker to mark the beginning of each round.

This beanie fits the average adult size head. If you need to adjust the size, either add 2 stitches or decrease 2 stitches in the cast on.

The Pattern

co 46 +1 stitches using the long tail cast on method. Connect to form a circle (46)

 

The Brim

 

Round 1-5: k1p1 (46)

 

The Body

 

Round 6-7: k all stitches (46)

 

Round 8: p all stitches (46)

 

Round 9-10: k all stitches (46)

 

Round 11: p all stitches (46)

 

Round 12-13: k all stitches (46)

 

Round 14: p all stitches (46)

 

Round 15-16: k all stitches (46)

 

Round 17: p all stitches (46)

 

Round 18-19: k all stitches (46)

 

Round 20: p all stitches (46)

 

Round 21-22: k all stitches (46)

 

Round 23: p all stitches (46)

Round 25: *k, k, k2tog*, repeat 16 times (36)

Finishing up:

 

Cut a long tail. Using the plastic needle, weave the yarn through the loops on the knitting needles. Pull the needles out of the yarn. Cinch the hole closed and tie off on the inside of the beanie. Add your faux fur pom pom to the top of the beanie.
