Full time mama!
What’s your dream vacation spot?
Currently: anywhere warm! But in my dreams: New Zealand, Egypt, Italy.
What’s your favorite color(s)?
Mustard Yellow, Burnt Orange, Cranberry Red, Hot Pink.
What’s your favorite food/meal?
Breakfast is my favorite meal! Scrambled eggs, bacon, fruit, and french toast/pancakes/waffles will always be my go-to for that.
What’s your least favorite food/meal?
Lunch is my least favorite – I would do two large meals a day (breakfast/dinner) if I didn’t have kids.
Do you have a favorite movie or TV show?
I am a sucker for a good historical drama. Some favorite movies include Fiddler on the Roof, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Phantom of the Opera, and Lord of the Rings.
What’s a quote that you live by?
“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” Joshua 24:16
Do you have other hobbies (other than the one you specialize in now)?
I used to be a very avid runner. I do plan to get back into that once I am done having babies!
What’s 1 (or more) weird/strange fact(s) about you?
I have spent 10 minutes thinking and unfortunately for you, I’ve got nothing other than that I can do a 4-leaf-clover shape with my tongue.
If you had a theme song, WHAT would it be?
I am actually not large into music, so I am not sure!
What’s the most spontaneous thing you’ve done in your life?
Probably open an Etsy shop, ha!
Do you have a favorite holiday?
Probably my Birthday, but that sounds vain so let’s say Christmas. 😉
Do you have a favorite season?
Autumn! I would have it be Autumn year-round if I could.
What inspires or motivates you?
I feel like this could be a very complex answer, but briefly, I like to compete with myself so I suppose I motivate myself to be a better version of myself (wife, mom, friend, maker, ect).
If you could do one thing for the world (people or environment), what would it be?
Another question with a complex answer. In short: I would love for everyone’s hearts to be softened for Christ.

How long have you been crocheting and knitting?
I have known how to crochet for 18 years, and knit for 5.
When did you start your business or hobby?
I started my business January 26th, 2016.
Why did you start?
I wanted to support my yarn buying habits 😉
What’s your favorite thing you’ve made?
Probably my “Justyna” Collection, and Sigfrid Sweaters!
What’s a piece of advice for someone just starting out in your field?
You can do whatever you set your mind to!
Does your company have a mascot?
Um…me? hehe – nope!
What was your most memorable success?
Finally not being worried about what other people think of me as a business/person/maker/designer and just doing what I love, not whatever is trending.
What was your most memorable challenge?
RAGLAN SWEATER MATH.
How did or are you overcoming this challenge?
Hours of trial and error.
What’s next for Lady Jay Crochet?
Just more pattern designs whenever I am inspired to make new ones!

What’s your latest project?
Lil’/Big Bro Beanies!
Where did the inspiration come from for this project?
New baby = baby/sibling things for daysssss.
Have there been any challenges with this project?
YES. My first word beanies using 3 total colors. I wanted to offer instructions for 3 and 2 colors, but that ended up being extremely vexing while writing the pattern.
Will this be free or paid?
Paid – possibly offered in a discounted bundle together but TBD.
Where can we find this project when it’s finished?
Both my Etsy and Ravelry stores.
When will it be finished?
February 2021.
