of kindness can be!

Do you have other hobbies?

I am starting to dip my toes into dyeing yarn and I am loving it so far! I also love taking care of my house plants. Propagating plants and sharing the clippings with friends brings me so much joy!

I pull a lot of inspiration from nature. As for motivation, I definitely get that from my family and friends.

If you could do one thing for the world (people or environment), what would it be?

I don’t even know

All About JBK Crochet

How long have you been crocheting?

I learned how to crochet when I was about 10 years old. My grandmother was a crocheter and she took the time to teach me. I only
recently picked it back up three years ago.

When did you start your business or hobby?

I started JBK Crochet 3 years ago

Why did you start?

I started this little business by accident! I made a IG page to share my projects and then met some amazing local knitters and crocheters that would meet weekly for sip and stitches. When I
joined them I saw all of the potential this new hobby had and decided to give it a shot! I am so grateful for each and every single one of those ladies.

What’s your favorite thing you’ve made?

I am currently in love with my newest pattern the Double Brim Maple Beanie! Its super cozy and living in a place like Canada a cozy hat IS A MUST!

What’s a piece of advice for someone just starting out in your field?

A piece of advice I would give is know your limits. When starting a business, you will want to jump on every opportunity that presents itself. It is important to remember that it is okay to say no. You want to do a few things VERY well rather than do
many things that aren’t your best

Does your company have a mascot?

No

What was your most memorable success?

Launching my website was a pretty big deal for me! I was so proud of myself for taking that leap.

What was your most memorable challenge?

My biggest challenge to this day is knowing my limits. I have an awful tendency to take on too much.

How did or are you overcoming this challenge?

I’m taking my time before saying yes when committing to a new project. I find if I allow myself to reflect on the decision rather than say yes right away I make a
more mindful decision.

What’s next for your business (the future)?

I HOPE to continue my designing journey as well as
eventually selling some hand dyed yarn in my shop.

The Future for JBK Crochet

What’s your latest project?

My Double Brim Maple Beanie

Where did the inspiration come from for this project?

I am primarily a crocheter and I wanted to create a
crochet beanie that had the same texture, coziness and look of a knit beanie. Last year I WIPed one up and have been selling it as a finished product. This wrote up and released the pattern!

Have there been any challenges with this project?

No

Will this be free or paid?

This pattern is a paid pattern

Where can we find this project when it’s finished?

It is available on my website,
Etsy shop and Ravelry!

When will it be finished?

I released the pattern this past Friday!
