Happy Wednesday, friends! I have a free pattern for you- the amigurumi pop-tart! This little friend was super popular on my Instagram (check out my latest reel).

This pop-tart is crochet and super simple to do, even beginners can make one. You only need to know how to chain, single crochet, change colors, and sew two panels together.

I used Premier Yarns Parfait Chunky yarn-my favorite. This yarn comes in so many color options.

I did have to use Yarn Bee from Hobby Lobby in white due to Premier Yarns being out of white at my local store. I would still recommend using Premier Yarns if you can.

If you would like an Ad-free copy of this pattern, you can find a copy for sale on my Etsy page. Link below:

Special Notes

This pattern is made in 2 panels.

At the end of each row, CH 1 then turn to start the next row. Your first stitch of the row will be in the same spot as your CH 1.

Instructions

**In the example photos, I used PURPLE instead of WHITE. Any time you see PURPLE in the photos, use the color WHITE

Front Panel

Using Toffee

Row 1: CH 24

Row 2: In the second CH from the hook, SC. SC in each remaining stitch (23)

Row 3: SC in all stitches (23)

*you will be switching between 2 colors for most of the remaining stitches.

You have 2 options when switching colors:

  1. You can carry the toffee color under the white color stitches.
  2. You can cut the toffee yarn each time you switch to white. Once you finish, you can go back and tie all the ends together. This is the option that I used and found this one to be the easier and used less yarn in the end.

Row 4: SC in 3 stitches, switch to WHITE, SC in 17 stitches, switch to TOFFEE for the remaining 3 stitches (23)

Row 5-28: SC in 3 stitches in TOFFEE, SC in 17 stitches in WHITE, SC in 3 stitches in TOFFEE (23)

Row 29-30: Use Toffee for these two rows. Cut the yarn for WHITE. SC in TOFFEE for two rows (23). Cut the Toffee yarn and pull through. You have completed the front panel for the pop-tart.

Add safety eyes between rows 15-16 with 4 stitches on either side and 7 stitches in between.

Using a small amount of Black yarn, create a smiley face. On rows 12 and 13, create a V shape to form the mouth. Tie ends on the opposite side.

Using small amounts of Seaglass, Cotton Candy, and Lime, create sprinkles in random spots.

Back Panel

Use only TOFFEE

Row 1: CH 24

Row 2: In the second CH from the hook, SC. SC in each remaining stitch (23)

Row 3-30: SC in all stitches (23)

Cut a very long tail and pull through your last stitch. Using your plastic needle, you will whipstitch the two panels together. Line up the two panels and stitch through the front panel stitch to the back panel stitch. Once you have 3 of the sides complete, stuff your pop-tart with the Polyfil. Don’t stuff it too much!

Sew the top of the panel. Tie your end in.
