Where are you located?
Detroit, MI
Do you have a job outside of Little Red Knits?
No, been full time with LRK since November 2019-but I have a psychology degree in with a background working in schools and accounting.
What’s your dream vacation spot?
Somewhere either in the mountains of Wyoming or in a hut in the middle of the ocean
What’s your favorite colors?
Army green, burgundy, black, grey, and oatmeal
What’s your favorite food/meal?
Taco and pizza! Even tie, don’t make me choose lol
What’s your least favorite food/meal?
Exotic things or meatloaf
Do you have a favorite tv show?
I love shows and movies based off history or true events like Gladiator and Vikings
What’s a quote that you live by?
“Don’t worry about the things you can’t control”
Do you have any other hobbies?
I love to rollerblade and sing
What’s 1 or more weird facts about you?
I’m the only one in my whole family (immediate and extended) with red hair
If you have a theme song, what would it be?
Totally cheesy but “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey because you never know that could happen if you just keep pursuing your dreams! Each year it gets better and better and goes beyond my wildest dreams. The sky is truly the limit.
What’s the most spontaneous thing you’ve done in your life?
Skinny dipped in Mexico on my honeymoon. lol
Do you have a favorite holiday?
My birthday..hahaha… either that or 4th of July
Do you have a favorite season?
Fall
If you could do one thing for the world, what would it be?
Provide food, water and shelter to all
Anything else?
I have been knitting since 2012 and crocheting since 2016. My favorite affordable yarn is Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick and hand dyed yarns is from Montana Crochet. I love to make hats and scarves and wear those all year round. I have one dog names Henry and a cat named Ruby. My husband and I got married in 2016-he’s my best friend and biggest supporter of LRK. He takes most of my mobdeled photos and is always there to help me with shows, opinions on designs, and buying yarn when I run out lol. We have a little cottage up north and we love the outdoors. We also love to camp and have plans to visit more of the country in the coming years!

How long have you been crocheting and knitting?
Knitting for 8 years and crocheting for 4.
When did you start LRK?
2012
Why did you start?
I asked my grandma to teach me one night when we were watching Jeopardy lol.
What’s your favorite thing you’ve made?
My coffee date wrap using yarn from Hickory Lane Fiber Co.
What’s a piece of advice for someone just starting out in your field?
Don’t give up. Developing your brand takes time and things don’t happen overnight. If it’s your passion keep going and your success will come.
Does LRK have a mascot?
No, unless it’s me because I am “Little Red” lol
What was your most memorable success?
Designing my first garment and then this year with my show basically selling out of stock and making 24/7 to keep up with the demand! So amazing and blessed.
What was your most memorable challenge?
Grading my first sweater design
How did you overcome this challenge?
Not giving up and using other people and tools to help me complete my goal

A cardigan design and kit coming in February with Lion Brand Yarn
Where did the inspiration come from?
I saw a girl wearing something I loved and I said I want to make that

Not yet, it’s actually going smoothly!
